Did you know there are three versions of the Xbox 360 on the market today?

If you have any doubts about the Xbox 360, have no fear for it is the aim of this article to guide you through the baffling information overload that greets us at many a turn. We aim to inform you of the different models of Xbox 360 currently on release and explain how their differences may or may not suit your needs and requirements of a gaming console.

First point…the Microsoft Xbox 360 is a truly brilliant console! This is a ‘no brainer’! You need to know however there are currently three editions of the Xbox 360 in the market: the Elite, the Arcade and the Super Elite.

But how do these variations of the Xbox 360 compare?

While all three are similar with respect to their features and specifications, it all boils down to two differences: colour and hard disk.

All Xbox 360  packages include a games console, wireless controller and headgear. In addition, all Xbox 360 packages provide hybrid video and power cable as well as DVD playback complete with upscaling. High picture definition is standard as well as standard Ethernet network cable and incredible surround sound output. xbox360arcade

The Xbox 360 Arcade is the more basic of all the models. For this reason on the face of it, it is the cheaper of all the current Xbox 360s. One glaring difference is that the  Arcade is white and that it works off a flash memory of 0.5GB. When more memory is required (and undoubtedly, more memory could be needed with time) it is provided with an external hard disk or by memory stick. The additional expense of extra memory required for the Arcade may lead you in the direction of purchasing the Xbox 360 Elite instead.

Complete with all the standard features mentioned before, the black Xbox 360 Elite comes out of the box with a 120GB hard disk built in. Will this be enough memory to perform a high resolution gaming function? The answer is a resounded 'yes'! In fact we'd be surprised if you ever exhaust this level of memory when loading and playing all the latest games on the market today.

The black Xbox 360 Super Elite provides all the capabilities and essentials of the Elite but carries with it an additional 130GB of memory. With 250GB of storage, the Super Elite goes that extra mile as well as providing an extra wireless controller however the liklihood is that the Xbox 360 Elite offers all and more than you are ever likely to need from a gaming console.
